Even before the movie Drumline premiered bringing their hypnotic beats to mainstream America drum corps and drumlines have long captured the attention of young and old alike as they accompanied the marching band in and out of the stadium.  It is the drumline that coaxes the crowd to their feet as they cheer their team on to victory.  It is the drumline that crosses every genre of music leaving our hearts pulsating in our chest as we marvel as each percussionist weaves intricate beats into the fabric of our souls while executing fancy footwork and sensational sticking achievements.
 
The vision and goal of this event is to showcase and celebrate the musical talents of our youth while helping to alleviate the financial burdens that each program must face in providing quality instruction and instruments in order to operate successful programs.
 
While many band competitions and festivals abound there has yet to be a quality judged competition dedicated to the percussion section in the Atlanta area.  It is this gap that we hope to bridge with a structured adjudication system based on creativity, precision, originality and musicianship.  Each participant will receive solid critique which they may use to improve their music program.
 
It is our hope that one of the benefits of this event will expose the importance and musicality of the percussion section, emphasis the skills our youth possess and encourage every participant and spectator to further their education in the college or university of their choice.
